Dear Ms Merkel,
with this letter, we want to thank you for the promising note you gave at the World Economic Forum 2006 in Davos on January 25. The G8youthplatform, that is borne by many, many youth organizations, schools, university departments as well as individuals - pupils, students, young professionals - takes up your word of the "creative imperative" and aims at a change of the scandalously unjust situation in this world: the state of the poor, the gap between north and south, cultural conflicts, security and environmental issues.
We adhere to your statement in Davos, that these problems ask for an improved and binding global framework that brings the global economy into harmony with environment, society and culture. And with this letter, we want to cordially ask you to put forward these issues at the G8-summit in Heiligendamm in June 2007.
We believe that this summit can make a difference in the world - please, Ms Merkel, employ all your energies and apply all your authority to achieve this goal and be a change in the world! Sign the letter online
